They say that a picture paints a thousand words. I took these pics while serving in the 1/506 Infantry, Camp Greaves Korea.

was a grunt in Nam 68-69 now i remember any and every time i could put on CLEAN DRY clothes after a shower in the rear made me feel like a million bucks. A can of warm beer with cheese with caroway c-rats on crackers feet and hands jungle rot infections drying out not being shot at was a piece of heaven

Being Infantry provided me with some of the best and worst moments of my life. I think we all make that transition at some point in our Infantry lives where it goes from being "our job" to "who we are", and if you reach that point, it's always a part of you. If I could change anything about my experience, it would only be to stick around a little longer.

I just noticed that there are not a lot of pics or comments from my infantry brothers in the Corps. Since all are 0311's I find that odd. Come'on Devil Dogs!

That is a really good picture but it doesn't look fun! My grandfather went to Korea and came back with 5 bronze Stars from fighting in 5 of 7 major battles. He passed away on 2007 when I was training up for my 1st deployment to Afghanistan. He is was an Infantry soldier and I was an Infantry soldier 7+ years of my 14 years,11 months and 27 days. He had very bad legs because of Korea. My Grandpa got Frost bite from doing patrols in knee deep snow. He retired from the Army in 1976 when he finished doing his tour In Vietnam and also received a purple heart from that war also. He was an E-8 when he retired

Life in the Infantry? Always cold or hot, wet, hungry, and tired. Always carrying to much and walking to far. Damn I miss those days!!

Always enjoyed running PT thru Dragon Valley at Casey and poking fun at the DATS. That and the "fun run" thru the Turtle Farm... Good times

At the end of the Manchu we all congregated on the field behind Burger King....the scene looked just like the photo SSG Brousseau posted!
They moved the turtle farm- it is now outside the main gate of Casey, across the street and over the tracks. I wasn't so fond of those "gate runs".....1/15th FA was a loooong way from those gates!

Lol rgr that. I was there 93-94. We were waaayyyy down by Div Fwd HQ (by the flag pole). The runs weren't bad we had fun. It was the walk of shame after we missed the last bus and Staff Duty wouldn't come pick us up...lol.

Was assigned with the Manchus (9th infantry regiment) and completed the Manchu 100 mile road March at ft.. Huntterligget in '88. 5 days of pure hill, made though, and am proud. First manchu sir.

Isnt Camp Greaves just north of Camp Casey by the DMZ. Like a UN joint base, damn i cant remember.

LTC Paul Labrador
Greaves (which is no longer there) was about 10 minutes from the JSA (CP Bonifas) at Panmunjon. CP Casey is farther east.
