With the recent amount of stolen valor it is hard to keep up with all the different threads being posted here on RallyPoint. From this point forward if you have a stolen valor question, comment, and or post, then add it here. The posts that currently exist will stay, as we don't want to lose the already existing discussion content. If you have started a stolen valor post prior to this and wish to have it merged to this one then feel free to let me know and I will merge that for you. The initial post will be gone but the discussion content will be merged to this posting.

I like the fact people are making the videos. It may discourage some future posers if they think their dishonorable act goes viral. I'm sure the fake Ranger at the mall is catching a lot of crap.

He'd make a great Christmas tree. I wonder if it plugs in or runs on batteries.

Does This Wannabe even look like he's completed 30 years of service? And 7 tours of combat? I don't think so. One thing's for Sure this joker clearly didn't do his homework well enough, my old chain O' Command would have had a Field day with this P.O.S.

Audie Murphy didn't look the part either...but this guy.... wow... I know the Courts have said that lying about being in the military and saying you were awarded medals is protected free speech but a courts are coming down on the fraud aspect: http://www.metnews.com/articles/2014/swish103014.htm

I guess what bothers me the most is... It really wasn't THAT difficult to raise your right hand. If you really want to wear that uniform, earn it. Yes, we put up with a lot of bullshit, yes we put our lives on the line and relationships on hold. But the truth is, 99.9% of us are stronger now than when we nervously raise that right hand upon entrance. We were faced with challenges we didn't even know existed and if we survived, we could draw on that experience for the rest of our lives. So if these guys REALLY have the desire to join our little elite group, then just do it.

His tie is garbage. His coat fits like crap. I don’t' know if the picture is just fuzzy, but I don't see blue discs around his cross rifles. Plus if you’re so hard up for chest candy that you stack your expert badge, your sad. Go get that grenade award there SGM!

P.S. Ranger with 30 years and only 3.5 years deployed...

This jackass along with the rest of his ilk will continue to use the uniform to fulfill whatever wishful flight of fancy they have and/or perpetrate a scam. Until we (the United States) passes a legally enforceable code that attaches serious criminal and civil penalties to this type of behavior (wearing of a DoD uniform, awards, regalia, and/or accoutrements) without official orders for each and every thing on the uniform they will continue with their behavior. What I find most reprehensible about convict Rahm's behavior is the audacity to engage a Gold Star mother. I personally and professionally hope she sues the living daylights out of him in civil court for mental and emotional distress.

On a lighter note, it's not like AR 670-1 is not available in a convenient, easily downloadable pdf. Further, both Apple and Android have multiple apps that allow you to properly build your rack. If you are going to be a jackass at least take the time to do it correctly.... Shhh say my peers, it will make them harder to spot LOL....

What first caught my eye were the long line of hash marks down the forearm... Now, I could be wrong, as things might have changed since I was in, but each of those hash marks were for an enlistment period, right? Then, "Day-Yuum!" He should be tottering around in a dang walker! As to the ribbons, they are so miss-mashed up I wouldn't know where to start, but what truly fired me up was the fact that like most of the yahoos, he probably didn't serve a day in his life, and he's taking from those who did.
I mean, if you want to wear the uniform, see a recruiter, and don't strut around like an idiot wearing something you have no right to! Getting off my soapbox now, muttering to herself about idiots....

Each Service Stripe denotes 3 years of service. Each Overseas Service Stripe (bars on the right sleeve) is 6 months cumulative time served in a forward area, usually in a combat theater.

So he's saying he's spent a total of 3 1/2 years deployed to combat theaters and has been in service for over 30 years.

I call BS.
