The nightmare of Eisenhower finds realization in the political aspirations of Donald Trump. On Tuesday afternoon, the presidential hopeful made an unseemly Twitter gaffe when his campaign posted a picture of Nazis on the North Lawn of the White House.
Hash tagged “MakeAmericaGreatAgain,” the advertisement sports a Donald deep in thought. Unfortunately, Trump staffers gave little thought to the graphic of goose-stepping fascists. Users quickly spotted the SS squad and promptly launched their own Twitter blitzkrieg, mercilessly lambasting the candidate.
The Trump campaign quickly deleted the tweet.
A degree in European History wasn’t required to zero in on the travesty. Any American familiar with the global struggle that shaped the 20th century could spot the discrepancy. Civics books, war movies, and video games have all captured the iconic and contrasting helmet styles of American GI’s and the German Wehrmacht.
But don’t worry Donald. You can learn. Here’s how:

Perhaps Mr. Trump should tell his digital-director, “you’re fired.” And hire any well-informed fifth grade boy off the street.

Maybe the Trump campaign was infiltrated by a liberal spy who was tasked with deliberately starting a smear campaign because the left justifiably fears Donald Trump! :>)

BOTH sides, "liberal" and "conservative" are guilty of smear campaigns.

It'll haunt him, but it was a silly mistake by a graphic designer who was paying more attention to composition than content. In the realm of gaffes, it's pretty minor and the least of his worries.

"Ship of Fools" is a rock song performed by English rock singer Robert Plant. It was the second single released from his 1988 album Now and Zen, following "H...

Its an oops... Like 57 states, or "my muslim faith," but this is a Republican so the news will run with it as much as they can while they ignore Hilary's gross violation of OPSEC.

CSM David Heidkel I think it was an oops. If it wasn't an oop, the tweet would have stayed up longer for all to read. It came down almost as fast as it went public.

This appears to come from NBC, the very people whom ended there business with him over the smart remarks he made public a few months ago.

This will haunt him. If you are going to try to make a run for president then learn to hire competent people to help.

Hard to say. Personally, he's got my vote. As a movie stated "he's got balls and sometimes balls is all you need"

Looks to me just like regular soldiers. Certainly not SS.. and how you can tell their political affiliation from this picture is a mystery to me. .

I ask the following two questions in all seriousness.
1) Is Trump actually running for President? Or is he running to to the Trump Brand out there. (No such thing as bad publicity)
2) Does Trump profit more if Republicans are in office or Democrats are in office?
Think back to the Bush, Clinton, Perot election. It is my firm belief that Perot "profited" through the election of Clinton, or by "splitting the vote." In hindsight, it is the only logical reason why someone running on a third party (who was primed to win the election), then withdrew, would create the situation in the first place. Maybe I'm a hair jaded, but... I'm seeing striking similarities here. I believe Mr. Trump is a distraction. He doesn't attract people to the Republican party. If anything he is currently infuriating and attracting more Progressive voters and drawing them to the polls, while alienating the current (otherwise) Conservative voting base.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS, I guess time will tell if he's serious or playing a Trump card to split the election into three groups. I know he's very smart, understatement, so I think he's really thought this out as to what he really wants to do. I don't think anyone but him and his family know what he's up to.
