Yep! I'm giving this spoiled, ignorant, disrespectful POS, Emma Becker, her two minutes of fame because I just cannot seem to maintain my anger.
1. WTH IS WRONG WITH OUR YOUTH?
2. WHAT THE HELL ARE HER PARENTS TEACHING HER?
3. With shit like this, I really think taking her little Twitter privileges away is a great start at punishment.
But I know! We protect her right to say something that's absolutely unforgivable. I'm not perfect...

I'm getting asked "why are you spreading this or that," or actually being TOLD to stop... So here is my response to that!!!
I want this to follow her for the rest of her years. I want employers to look her up and see this. Do I want her on welfare? No, But I want her to know, like with so MANY others, that what you say CAN BE HELD AGAINST YOU!!!

How many of us Killed every single day we were in the military? I know I have been asked if the military was just awful, people thinking we are always riding HUMVEES or shooting people, living in tents... Have y'all been to McDill AFB? That place is AWESOME! I always answered that it was probably the most fun and most thrilling job I had ever had WHILE DEPLOYED, other than that, it is like every other persons work day. So no, We dont "Literally" only get paid to kill people.

I mean this kind of stuff goes back to the Vietnam War and even before that. It's about damn time, I say, that we stand up for ourselves instead of turning the other cheek like we always do.

And heck yeah, I feel we are deserved some sort of respect. I don't ask for it tho, unless it is from my daughter. Those that think we shouldn't unless we were called up, I mean, seriously??? Whatever. If you feel we can be disrespected, not only as Service Members, but also as adults, well, that would explain your vote down and I have nothing for you.

SGT (Join to see) SGT, while this message is unfortunate, I try to look at this through the long lens of patriotism. One of the many reasons I served was to protect the freedoms of the citizens of our great Republic. Consequently, one thing I fought for, and my brothers and sisters died for, was the right of this obviously misguided youth to spout her indefensible bloviating commentary.

I do not like any of what she said, but recall the saying to the effect of "I may not like what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
When you get angry, consider the source. She looks young and probably doesn't yet comprehend the (everlasting) ramifications of publishing hateful things on the internet. If she is foolish enough to publish this with her real name, she will live to regret it when she is applying for higher education or jobs that do a background check.

I mean this kind of stuff goes back to the Vietnam War and even before that. It's about damn time, I say, that we stand up for ourselves instead of turning the other cheek like we always do. SGT, I agree with you that the hateful comments about the military are horrendous and that she is not the only one today that is saying this garbage.
However, can you imagine people returning from Vietnam being thanked for their service (back then)? Many members of my VFW post served in Vietnam and mentioned widespread protests at the time of their return and being called baby-killers. For their own safety, they had to change into civilian attire, and they did a secret handshake to welcome each other home. Had her comment been made back then, I suspect that many (civilians) would have echoed her sentiments because back then, many did not view the military as heroes. Even older veterans did not welcome them back Vietnam or Korean War vets (at that time).
I think most people today have a favorable view of the military. Maybe she will stick to her opinion, but perhaps there may come a time when she has a change of heart. If and when that happens, she'll rue the day that she published that comment on the internet.

This almost seems too absurd to provide comment on, but I'll second what I've seen many members theorize...she's been "burned". The notion that warriors are not always the best at being stable romantic partners is as old as warfare itself...as is the associated reciprocity. In a broader sense though, this inane comment reveals a larger misconception...and insult all too common in a society that has benefited from the protection of the world's most powerful military. This young "lady" has no concept of what it was like to be a Jewish girl in Poland during WWII, a Chinese woman in Nanking, or a South-Vietnamese civilian...let alone a Kurd or Christian woman in parts of the Middle East today. I will take issue with the assertion made by at least one officer here that there is little to no difference between professional soldiers and paid assassins...there are OCEANS of difference Sir! A paid assassin kills without bias for the sake of pay...a professional solider (to include all service members engaging in direct combat) uses lethal force to enact national policy. When that policy is conquest, subjugation and genocide, we call that side "the bad guys"...when that policy is liberation, protection, and peace...we call those warriors "the good guys".
I like to think we've mostly been the Good Guys and always will be.

One of the great things living in our nation, we are all entitled to our opinions popular or not.
Unfortunately, statements like these can come back and bite you in the hind parts years later as many are finding out once the PC Police are on your scent and someday a potential employer or someone else may take offense to her comment but until then, just pat her on the head and tell her to fetch!
