What are some of the best name combinations you came across while serving?

I knew a Soldier  with the last name Major and he was a sergeant, so when someone would call his name SGT Major, Soldiers would go to parade rest or the Sergeant Major (E-9) would turn around.

I worked with a MSG Majors a few years back. She confuse the hell out of people when she answered the phone. I also saw a SGT Faggot on an IRR roster I definitely understand why he wanted to get out.

When I was promoted to Sergeant, folks started having trouble saying "Sergeant Schwager." It's not that hard, but it was kind of embarrassing when you'd be standing in formation and they'd call your name and screw it up. LOL

We had a "Major Dick" on 22 MEU float. Before the float was over he got promoted to LtCol. In reality, he was a pretty cool guy and didn't live up to his namesake.

Usaid employment request
Top secret
I was "arrested" (detained) in Da Nang by the Provost Marshall : Major Dick.

I was in civilian clothes and driving a USAID vehicle.  I passed him in his well marked jeep by going around him via the White Elephant parking lot (empty, lunch time). He was so pissed off that he stopped me an made me go to the "jail(?)" and was in such a hurry to penalize me, he took my "civilian" ID card from my hands when I was handing it to the desk Sgt (excellent ruse), and threw it at the desk Sgt and told him to write me up and that I would hear from him.....he did that just as the desk Sgt was about to ask my "rank" (looking at the form he was reading from)....which would have been a disaster as I would have been obligated to divulge my "military" staus (honest to a fault), and would have then said "Sgt, USAF" and all hell would have descended upon me.

Post Script: I had told the Major I could not leave the vehicle I was traveling in as a Viet employee was in the van and I was carrying classified mail for the Ambassador. He forced me to park the van outside the compound and follow him to the "desk" Sgt (high up behind a formidable "wall".

Net result:  when the Console deputy heard my side of the story...he proceeded to dictate a letter to the Major and his superiors that was a scathing rebuff for his actions.

I had a substitute teach named MR. Richard Head.  Supposedly his wife was named Anita.  It's not army but it was still funny.  I did know a SGT named Richard Dees or Dick Dees.
