91B Sustainment Course is huge. It is about 60 points if I remember correctly. Anyone who is CLS certified qualifies for it and it teaches great stuff.

SGT Pounds, I had thousands of hours of correspondence courses in addition to resident courses and degrees. The theory was not only to get the points for E5/E6, but to get something on my record every year, as often as possible to increase my value to the Army via the Army's investment in me. I began with the Army Precommission Course to understand Infantry. There were no courses in my MOS for a long time. So I took as many others as possible in different branches, such as Avionics, QM, etc. Then I fixated on AG and Chemical. AG because it was the most related thing and I needed secondary MOS. Chem because I wanted a C identifier and no one in my enlisted field had one. I picked up an H attending a reserve school (that was unique). The AG courses and Finance made it easier to understand how my career was managed, how to take care of my soldiers, how to ensure the records management of my people was properly done...and that paid off in aces throughout my career. So pick something you like or have an interest in, but do learn about other fields. Don't be too narrow, too one-dimensional.

Air Force Reserves tracked points for Correspondence Courses and were listed on the annual points summary sheet. BUT, the points were never calculated into the retirement.

Anything required for MOS and leadership. Basically, the more the better. Even any for above your grade.

I was awarded promotion points for ALL the correspondence courses I completed while on Active Duty. I even earned an Additional Skill Identifier (75C1C) for completing the NBC course. When I ordered correspondence courses, it stated how many points were to be awarded at completion. That was the Only way I was able to earn points in this area. You only get credit for one Certificate of Achievement (I had five) and the only REAL medal I received was an ASM from an Infantry LTC for ‘fixing’ his Battalion’s promotion system and obtaining permission to publish E6 orders for a SGT who should have been a SSG five years before I arrived in Germany. I found correspondence courses fun. Another way to obtain promotion points is to take a college course. It can be any course you want. You will be awarded 10 points for civilian education and three to five additional points for the college course you complete. Hope this helps. Good Luck in your endeavors!

1st everything in your MOS- 2nd everything in your secondary MOS. They are not for point hunters- they are there for you to be proficient in your skills.
