I can't say I'm surprised that this is all happening. Right now I'm just sad and frustrated.

Do we have a general in inventory that has won a war after WWII?

My heart goes out to the families of those who gave up their lives. For what? For a lost cause? It happened because their were gutless people in command. Please God help us.

It reminds me of Vietnam. Although I agree that if the afghan military won't fight for their freedom then we should feel no obligation to help them. That being said we should have evacuated all Americans and Afghan supporters well in advance of the troop withdrawal. Poor planning by the Whitehouse and Pentagon! Now Americans are in danger of losing their lives. We need to send in the Marines, and I mean 50,000 troops with Gunships and tanks to get our Americans out. We cannot rely on the Taliban's word saying we have safe passage. GET THEM OUT Biden!!!

My feelings are we should have never been there in the first place for as long as we were. Operations to capture/kill groups associated and responsible with the initial 9/11. However that's a double edge sword. If we kill those people and be on their land, there will be just another pissed off generation to kill the "infidels" who invaded their land. Who killed and captured their father, brother, son, grandfather, siblings and gain revenge.
We should have rendered any and all equipment and arms useless, just like the Afghanistan Army. Some of those Soldiers actually did care about their country. They are scared. Taliban, Al Qaeda, and other terrorist organizations threaten the Afghan Soldiers lives, which when they leave the compound and go back home end up being slaughtered anyway for siding with the "infidels".
I believe we will see a rise in terrorist activities and training camps within the region since there will be no outside military presence and that the Afghan Army will crumble surely to not fight back since there will be no ground or air support.
It's tragic and sucks, since thousands of lives have been given fighting a war that's not our issue. We need to stop being world police and trying to help "fix" or have them "adapt" to our standards. Let them live in their own world. Let them be. We need to worry about our OWN country and how things are going on here. However, if an attack happens to U.S. personnel, you better be ready for a retaliation. We must not be looked as pushovers.

I'm feeling a little stressed and sad about leaving so many fine people over there, especially the interpreters.

I believe that POTUS is lost as for what is truly going on. I further believe he he doesn't care about our brothers and sisters gave up. However I do agree that we shouldn't fight a war when the Afghan people won't fight themselves! President Trump started the pull down and the way he did it made sense. However Biden started a shit show of epic proportion with his non-existant exit plans. WTF did he expect?

Had I not had to take a medical I would most likely have been on orders at some point before I retired to go. By taking the oath we go and do the job as assigned. When the local NG was called up, I felt left behind. I did a lot of studying of the area and learned about its culture, etc. It was then I hoped it would be a short involvement because its culture would not accept out kind of government. It was as fdifferent from a Republic as VN was and I had lost so many friends and relatives in that one, one way or another. We, as a nation did not need another VN.
As it dragged on, I was getting so disgusted as more lives were lost. Then, the people who we trained would turn on the American Soldiers and Marines…the turned my stomach every time that happened. It further showed me it was not their understanding of our kind of government. They had tribes and we were not tribal government. They had their little bands of family who were nomadic and had their sheep and goats. It was not us.
It took decades to sink in.

America has fallen with the Whispering Biden administration. We now have opened the can of worms by letting the Taliban take over . Now China will join the Taliban and screw us without lube. All of our buddies died for nothing .

With our government it was only a matter of time. Biden is a follower, not a leader, knows nothing about the military, knows nothing about world affairs, and follows to some extent the "clean black man"! Who also didn't have a clue about how to lead...remember giving weapons to the gangs in Mexico in an effort to do away with out Second Amendment? My opinion now is that any ignorant soul who votes blue deserves whatever they get.

As a Vietnam vet, I am distraught with how the current administration is handling the situation. Whatever happened to no one left behind? It makes my blood boil.
