New uniform 2015
Here we go, the new uniform release timeline and wear out dates for the old stuff. Will MCSS have it on time and in the right sizes? When will units start permitting us to wear the new uniform?

Barring a specific "no" from my commander, I plan to authorize wear of multicam uniforms (either OCP or scorpion) with current boots, t-shirts, etc. for my battalion ASAP.

Great call. I plan to use my MultiCam uniforms at the very least for field and destructive wear where no one will really know the difference.

Likewise.. I started wearing my new PT uniform when they went on sale @ the racks. No asking.. just did it. I would recommend others do the same.. why? because everyone has an opinion AND there's always going to be a new PVT coming to a unit with the new OCP uniform and ONLY that. Then what?

Yay we get a good pattern but they didn't listen to anyone about how to fix the horrible uniform so now there is even more velcro on the arm and they added a zipper. Can't wait.

If Congress were smart and wanted to save money they would have required all branches among the DOD wear the same uniforms with differing nametapes the way it used to be. SMH at how stupid this gets the further we go along.

Common Sense, I think that was issued to me in Basic and we were ordered to toss it into the trash can...

I'm grateful they don't issue common sense. There would be double the FLPL's than we are already processing because it would be misplaced.

Uniforms have spiraled so far out of control in the last 10 years that its sickening. We have deliberately chosen patterns of idiocy. ACUs don't camouflage you from anything unless you are in a gravel pit, Navy sea camo would be just what I would want to wear if I fell overboard, wait, why do you need camo on an AIRCRAFT CARRIER? Then there is the Air Force, proof of why we don't let them run ground campaigns, ever. They never go to the field but brought back sage green tiger stripes then wear Army uniforms to deploy. Crye Precision was the breakthrough and the Army started nearly from scratch just to avoid paying royalties after we have wasted billions reinventing the wheel.

That about hits the nail on the head 1SG. I've also read, in Army Times or some other Army related thing can't remember which, that not only are we switching to this, which I personally think is a good idea, but that the Army will also choose two other types of uniforms for different deployed areas. I guess what I'm getting at is, and you're right, we wasted billions on this uniform debaucle, when, in my own opinion, we could have kept the BDUs and DCUs and just added the multicam. Yes I know the black boots were a pain the butt, but (no pun intended) we could have still gone with desert boots with all those uniforms.
