Dickson County public schools in Tennessee has elected to ban all flags after a summer of controversy with the confederate flag. All flags would include "Old Glory".

Liberals ban the use of individual judgment because they are deficient in the art.

your not getting it at all are you, not even a little, our countries GDP has nothing to do with education budgets, conservative budgets do, conservative states like texas teaching creationism over evolution are the problem. The fact that conseratives do not see public education as important. Your comparing our massive country to countries the size of north dakota, its not even a viable comparison.

LCpl Mark Lefler, we disagree. Budgets have nothing to do with performance in U.S. schools; you could double the budget without improving performance in the slightest. Our problem is a defective educational system that is being run using a failed ideology that has never worked.

Systems in other countries get superior results to ours with half the budget we spend on education.

I'm sorry what country is this school in? Who do they say the pledge to? (oh yeah they don't say that anymore.) Where is their pride in being American? I would question their loyalty to the nation...

I can not think of a worst way for a school district to deal with this. My knee jerk reaction to this would be to sew American flags onto every sleeve of all coats, shirts, hats my kids owned. On closer look of the problem, it's not really the banning of the flags, that's just what we see. The problem is the subversive tactics being used against the kids. They are being shown that higher authority can and will take away their freedoms but leave them with approved alternate choices to make it seem like they still have freedom of will to choose, even though those choices are pre approved through the higher authority as proper alternatives. These kids need to know they have constitutional rights, inalienable rights that can not be suppressed, removed. These educators are doing a fine job of raising a flock of sheep. Good thing there are still sheep dogs to watch over them.

Perhaps they should replace the American flag in front of their schools with something more in line with their rules. They are acting more akin to the third reich in WWII Germany than the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Sorry, I know this one is bad. Please do not think for one second that I support any of the ideals represented by that flag, I am using it to make a point.

I agree. I want someone to explain why, after an out cry by a minority , the display of the confederate flag, (and the call to destroy/eliminate any monuments dedicated to the Civil War, )which I personally regard as the battle flag of the Confederacy, and a tribute to those that fought under it, is now taboo. But it's OK to desecrate, burn and trample on, the American flag, which is a symbol that covers all of us, no matter what race, creed or ethnicity we belong to. We are all Americans'. It looks to me that the Tennessee shooter may have achieved his goals by burning the Stars and Stipe's and waving the confederate flag. But no news media has pointed that out. So what kind of history are we going to teach our future leaders? I can't wait till the next election. Trump is starting to look pretty good.

I agree. The whole world situation scares the hell out of me, but as I have said before, it's time for the U.S. To fall back and regroup. I think we are headed for another world war. The problem is we won't be able to tell our friends from our enemies. We can't continue to protect other countries at the expense of our own. We are downsizing our military while the non friendliest are building. Theirs up. I fear for the next generation. In this nukelier world, we are no longer protected by the oceans. A big change in leadership is essential.

Bloody hell... FACT CHECK!!!

"Information reported by news stations that the American Flag has been banned in the Dickson County school system is entirely inaccurate. The Flag is prominently displayed at every school in our county. It is also displayed in many of our classrooms. All students in Dickson County are allowed to voluntarily participate in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance each morning. We are very proud to have JROTC in both of our high schools, and we will continue to fly and respect the flag."

Didn't the article say that they would allow it to be flown outside but they couldn't bring any indoors? "Students said they were told they would get kicked out if they bring an American flag onto school property."

CW4 Guy Butler Fact check is full of excrement-laden diapers and so are most of those so-called sites. Now I am also calling BS on you directly. Do NOT tell me you have went to every school in the area every day. And with the potential backlash to this kind of thing, it could (these restrictions) been lifted.

SPC Allbright, your statement is true! However, heed your own advice and "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story". If you'll dig further, you'll find all flags are prohibited, per the School Superintendent. For instance, that would include an American flag your child might choose to display on their vehicle. It would include a sports team flag you might have on your vehicle, etc... Why should we allow one man to restrict our civil liberties? If my child attended that school system and wanted to fly Old Glory on his car or truck and drive it to school, he should have that right!
