In his first week as President, Trump has flooded us with many executive orders. What are your views or feelings about them and of future executive orders?

It depends on the Executive Order. They exist because sometimes it necessary to clarify how the executive branch will carry out its duties of enforcing the laws of the land. However sometimes they are abused as part of government over reach by the executive branch trying to create an imperial Presidency. I felt that the Obama administration over reached quite a bit, and was aided by the press.

So far, I do not think the Trump administration has over reached. But I am glad we have an adversarial press once again. Things would be great if we just had an intellectually honest press.

Sgt Ramon Nacanaynay - That's the intellectually honest part. A reporter who leaves out irrelevant information is a journalist. A reporter who leaves out relevant information to suit his/her point of view is a professional liar.

Sgt Ramon Nacanaynay - No. It's entirely factual, entirely reality, that the mainstream media waged partisan war on Trump for the last year. They deliberately and systemically misinterpreted things, took them out of context, at times outright lied, and made shit up in an effort to keep him from the Oval.

I have to disagree about the honest press. If this was Obama, nothing would be said. The only reason they are saying anything now is because the main stream media is biased.

SGM Mikel Dawson - I wasn't saying the press was honest, that's the part they lack. I don't care who is in office I want the press on him/her like terriers on a rat. But I also would like them to be honest. Can't remember the last time I saw that.

SFC (Join to see), President Trump is doing precisely what he said he'd do while campaigning, so none of his actions should be surprising. EOs are simply one of the tools afforded the president, and I don't see them going away anytime soon.

LTC Stephen C. - That's correct. I've never been one to drink the Kool Aid no matter how many others had. Can't and won't ever respect or support a man as morally corrupt as the current POTUS. I was against him from the beginning and will maintain my integrity on that point. Being elected doesn't transform the man or my feelings for him.

I view him in the same light as bigots, racists, fascists, misogynists, etc that have come before him. I won't ever be lapping at his feet like so many others are doing now. The USA is becoming an embarrassment under this guy.

For those of you who say Obama didn't follow through on his promises, you must've been in a time warp or something. Even though he was met by an active racist agenda from the onst of his administration he did a lot whether you liked it or not.

He rescued the disaster that was the Republican economy. He enacted the ACA which in my view was a good thing. The stock market performed admirably under him, etc. So to say nothing was fine is simply intellectually dishonest.

Guillermo Birmingham, you may continue to sing Obama's praises all you want and you may naysay President Trump all you want. Also, if you look at the narrative throughout the thread, you'll see that you are the one who started name calling.
However, your veiled comment about intellectual dishonesty borders on an ad hominem attack. Nothing I've said is intellectually dishonest. Further, I've made no such comment about you, and for you to suggest such is highly unprofessional. I'll respect your rank only to the extent that you discontinue personal attacks. I ask that you consider that before addressing me or anyone else on this forum again. SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" SSG Carlos Madden

To me it's funny how EOs are now an appropriate tool for the President to use, but when Barack Obama used them, it was unconstitutional.

I personally have no objections to their use...even George Washington issued an executive order. I just can't stomach the current hypocrisy.

Guillermo Birmingham - The fact that some bureaucrats in some places misunderstood the intent of the order and made mistakes in execution... or the fact that some bureaucrats DELIBERATELY misinterpreted the order in order to "create" a problem that should not have existed... does not imply that the order itself created "chaos". It has become pretty evident that "the swamp" is fighting back because there are some in the parasitocracy fueled and fed by the party of the democrats and their stooges in the press and elsewhere that don't want their "infrastructure infiltration" jobs eliminated. It has been fairly clear from the "get-go" that their intent is to obstruct and sabotage. Communists have never given up power willingly. Neo-communists have no reason to be different. Like I said, there is a lot of spite, hate and intolerance in the minds of those who came in with ©bama... and in the minds of their apologists in the press and elsewhere. When you see CNN headlines like "134,000,000 moslems denied entry by EO", it is pretty evident that the purveyors of fake news and disinformation are alive and well. And I will mention fake news as perfected by the party of the democrats and their stooges. When the New York Times editors actually sat down to write a letter to their subscribers apologizing for the lies and the twisted coverage they provided during the pre-election period, the FACTS demonstrate that it was the party of the democrats and their stooges that engaged in the creation of lies and propaganda. NY Times reporters were told to print ANYTHING, true or not, in an all-out effort to "stop Trump". They, like their colleagues in the Washington Post, lied through the teeth in many of their stories... or presented a twisted, distorted and fake view of events in their quest to try to manipulate public opinion. They obviously failed, but it is clear that fake news were originated, created and promoted by the hacks who wanted the Hilla to be president. They failed. And although now, many are resorting to "projection" to accuse the victors of what the defeated were, in fact, doing, the evidence is so overwhelming regarding the lies and omission of the party of the democrats, that to actually see "the Republicans hold the market in tha (sic) medium" in print is actually quite humorous. That might be the propaganda line, but it has not relationship to reality.

LTC (Join to see) - Ok. If I understand you, the fact that the EO was executed poorly was not as a result of the poor guidance given by the President and his minions. So this was all a conspiracy perpetuated by government execs wanting to make Trump look bad. Yeah right.

Can't use the excuse that the Sec of DHS hasn't been confirmed.

Oh so fake news is a liberal media thing? That's really laughable.

If fake news as a liberal media creation is laughable, then we should all laugh at the fact that the editors of the New York Times had to write and apology to their subscribers after their profits dropped 95% as a result of their obvious lies and fabrications. THAT was funny. First time that the yellow liberal media has had to admit that they're just a version of PRAVDA in English. :-D
Hilarious.
I realize that you can not deny a fact... so I understand the need to try to get by with a phrase that does not refute the fact. It was a good try.
