HAHAHA. Just thought of a really good one.
Old School: Using a typewriter, especially as a supply clerk to create Hand Receipts of the Commander's property. :D

The only problem in digitizing the battlefield, is getting real-time information to everyone who needs it now, and can they process it in manner that doesn't take away their effectiveness in carrying out the mission they are currently on now. I can see where it can overwhelm the people on mission and be distraction to easily

Talking of old school, how about mimeograph machines, or ditto machines? Or making copies with forms or blank paper with carbon paper between them, on a manual typewriter?

PO2 David Allender
Or the old Zerox machine, where you had to type the report to make copies without any errors?

If you knew what a piss pipe was / ever used a piss pipe.
Were psyched to get summer weight BDUs without Elvis Collars.
NCOs smoked at their desks
Had H Strap LBE made of canvas (actually wore mine for the last time in OIF 1)
Were issued a bear suit
Operated off magnesium snow shoes without crampons....shavings taken off the sides to start fires
Operated with or supported an M551 Sheridan Armored, Airborne, amphibious reconnaissance vehicle, which really wasn't any of those things
Ran a M3 range (grease gun)
Winter gear consisted of OD green wool items...PG (pre gortex)
The value of your CIF issue was around $300 bucks

You simply referred to President Bush as President Bush. Then junior came along and we had to add the Aich-Dubaya to distinguish the real pilot from the poser pilot.
I will admit - I did cast 4 votes for Bushes. Never drank any, just voted for them.

Even better Sir...sometimes slip and call the President, Vice-President Bush. Back then, they only tank in the A1 or A2 version was the M-60.

I remember 3 cent stamps, 1 cent postcards, and 10 cent a gallon gasoline. There was only leaded gasoline, most stations has regular,mid-range and eythel or premium grade gasoline, HanCock gas had seven grades. Milk 25 cents a gallon, and bread 25 cents a loaf. Of course a Dollar an hour was good pay. My first civilian job paid $2.48 an hour.

Old School was when Men "were" Men and Women "were" women and there was no crossing the lines and same sex marriages.

If the Crab Walk, Bars, Push Ups, Run-Dodge & Jump and a 1 Mile Run were your PT Test while wearing Green Cotton "Starchies" and Combat Boots, your Old School. If you never had to stick your arm thru the starched legs of your fatigue pants or Khaki Shirt before trying to put them on; you're not old school.
