What is your favorite restaurant from all the places you have been stationed?

Personally, mine is the "Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ" in Okinawa outside the main gate of Kadena. Don't know if it's still there but the food is great.

I think knowing the better places to patronize will help service-members in deciding a place to dine at.

Update: I'm adding "Mooyah's Burgers and Fries" and "Cheddars" to my list. Both are in the Foot Hood area.

If you are ever stationed at Fort hood, TX make sure you check out the waffle den, it's a hole in the wall place, but it's great food for cheap.

Hard to say, there were a lot of good places. One that stands out in My mind though was Emerson Street East which was on Colfax Avenue in Denver, CO. This wasn't very far from Lowry AFB, CO which was bordered on By Denver and Aurora, CO where I was assigned in the 3415th Security Police Squadron (ATC)

Fort Meade, MD: Timbuktu (Dinner) or Maiwand (Lunch)
Fort Sill, OK: Impact Zone (On-Post - the microbrews are great. There's otherwise nothing to do in Lawton...)
Fort Bliss, TX: Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey's (Out-!@#ing-standing...)
Fort Huachuca, AZ: Vinny's New York Pizza (Go for the Spicy Wings challenge)

SSG (Join to see),

Timbuktu is a Fusion restaurant that takes its name from the historic place being at the nexus of trade routes, and thus having a little of everything. Steaks are better than chain steak houses, but not on par with premium steak houses. Seafood is solidly good, but not the best in Maryland. What's intense are their combos, like Crabcake-topped Portobello Mushroom, or Crabcake-topped Fried Oysters served on the half-shell. They also do good surf-&-turf combos. Price: 3.5/5. Off Route 100 near 295.

Maiwand is a kabob and curry place, in the NW-India/Pakistan/NE-Afghanistan style. Not too spicy, but their lamb is to die for, and the Naan bread is good, especially dipped in the curry sauce or the cilantro dip. Food is served with South-Central Asia style fried rice most of the time. Price: 2/5. Off Arundel Mills Blvd. at 295.

If, while in Maryland, you're looking for fresh-steamed Old Bay seasoned crab, I suggest Cantler's Riverside Inn, just on the East side of the Severn River (aka Opposite the Naval Academy) in Annapolis.

At Ft. Bragg there's a Thai/Chinese place called Suwadee's. I absolutely love their Phad Thai. It's definitely my most visited restaurant.

Adding a few more spots. Outside of Fort Hood is "Cheddar's" in Harker Heights. Really good food. Took my wife there for her birthday and we all loved it. For burgers, check out "Mooyah's" on the south side of 190, off of "W.S. Young Blvd". Definitely a very good burger place.

LTC Paul Labrador, never did go to that one. Since I was on Coiner, we always went to the one by the shoppette. Definitely some good food.

I wasn't stationed at this base, but I did some training there: Fort Carson, CO - in Colorado Springs: MacKenzie's Chop House - the absolute best restaurant my taste buds have ever had the joy of experiencing.

Santana's about 20 minutes outside of Grafenwoehr between the post and the Hotel Wiesend in Kulmain, Germany (circa 2005). Loved the German food and beverages!! The butcher shop at the hotel also made great sandwiches.
