What is the timeline for Commissioning Orders to be produced after Scroll?

As many of you know I was waiting on Scroll; it came through mid September. Now, I was told that I have to wait for Commissioning Orders to wear my 2lt rank. I am anxious and just ready for everything to come to fruition. I honestly thought scroll was the last road block for me. Does anyone have any insight on this process? Also after the orders, when does the pay start?
UPDATE: I signed my contract and took the Oath of Office the same day scroll came in.

They're published after HRC receives your signed da 71 and contract. You're a 2LT as soon as you sign your 71. That said, pay for active duty can be really delayed. Reserve is as soon as HRC is updated and you often can't drill at your enlisted unit anymore.

I would caution to be patient, but after reading this has been a yearlong odyssey for you, I would inquire with the S1 folks on this. This seems like situation that just needs a discussion concerning you future. Always recall the best person to take care of your career is YOU!!!!!!!

LTC Stephen C. - Sir, I've been told to start training for either my air assault or air borne wings. I'm terrified but willing to do the work.

I actually thought jumping was a lot of fun, 1LT (Join to see). You'll get excellent training there, so when you get to jump week, there's really nothing to it. Your training will kick in and everything simply becomes reflexive. Just make sure that you're in excellent physical condition. Most people that wash out are simply not in shape.
Reach out to CPT(P) Ashley Carson, and get some more current pointers from her. When she made that jump she only weighed 110 pounds (she told me that!), so size isn't always a factor like you might think.
I vote for jump school, so get yourself to Fort Benning! Airborne All The Way!

There isn't much I wouldn't do to go to Benning for jump school if my board is successful. I am an old guy though, and I doubt they would be able to find me a slot. A guy can dream though!!

1LT (Join to see), I just stumbled onto this old thread accidentally. So what happened? Did you go to either jump school or air assault school? Let us know how you did!

Hi. I'm Direct Commissioning into the Army. My process is still on going and I'm approaching 10 months now. My scroll took four months to return and I signed my contract a week later I got my scroll. After I signed my contract, I waited 70 more days until I decided to call the Assignment Officer (AO) and ask him about the order process (just to get an estimate so I can inform coworkers, landlord, etc.). I guess I was on his to-call list, so we just ended up talking. He gave me three choices for my duty station and I told him where I wanted to go. After that, he told me it will be a one to two week wait before I get my official orders via S1, AMEDD recruiter, or through my AKO email/iperms. I don't know what is the appropriate time to wait until you contact your AO. I feel like it's always a last resort to call/email HRC but he was really patient and helpful when I asked questions. I really wanted to let my recruiter take care of it, but even they don't know a lot about the process since everything is just a "hurry up and wait" after they finish submitting all the documents on their end.

Miya M - BOLC was basically classroom for the first few weeks and then FTX for the last 2 which was M-F and then back at hotel for the weekend. We had a/c tents, warm meals for breakfast, dinner and only had to eat MREs in the field for lunch. I would try to take it when the weather is cooler. The hardest thing IMO was making sure you made it at the right place and on time because every day started early around 0300-0400, other than that it was a very enjoyable experience. So make sure you try to learn as much as you can. You will be split in platoons and the leadership will make sure they do everything in their power for you to be successful - goodluck

Update: Just got my orders! Took about 18 days after the RFO... As well as calling my AO a lot. I'm so glad he was patient with me. Good luck to you guys who are waiting. The whole process took 11 months from the moment I was contacted by my recruiter to when I got my official orders.

As I am Air Force Reserve, I can only speak directly to that but if the process holds true, it can take 2-3 months. My whole process took about 18 months from first phone call to taking my oath. Add an extra two months before I attended my first drill weekend. Hopefully yours will be much faster.

The scroll process is slow, mine took just under five months. I hope it has improved!

I was selected on Oct . I haven’t heard my scroll back yet. I contacted my recruiter and they got back with some rank issue and resubmitted on dec 10. Anyone know how long will I take to wait again on this issue?

I’m in the same boat. I signed my contract on August 30th and I’m still waiting for my orders to attend my first drill.

What is scroll? I graduated college in May, commissioned in June, passed boards, and was at OBC in Sept.

This I cannot help you. I probably went through this but I do not remember my recruiter mentioning it in 2003.
