Patches are for Boy Scouts. Marines need no such device.

To Meir was the Jungle Expert Patch. I had to do several things that I really didn’t want to do and it made me a better person and NCO for it.

Not all grunts were able to be in celebrated units. BUT ALL, were able to take pride in the patches they wore. Joe Average doesn't know certain awards or patches require special training and not all can even apply for the training required. Add to this, the fact, an officer will be eligible for more medals and awards than enlisted. But we who received awards for having been in combat or those wounded in war, can take pride in knowing we have medals and awards others may never be permitted to wear. VN Vet 67-68.

The Medal of Honor. Oh, did you mean my favorite that I’ve earned? Probably that pretty little rainbow ribbon thing. It matches everything.
