They aren't "combat patches". They denote foreign service during wartime. Incorrect verbiage fosters the wrong connotation and thus generates pointless debate about who is better than who, and who "deserves" to wear what.

If you are going to chastise people, at least make sure you get it right. The Army combat patch, officially known as the "shoulder sleeve insignia-former wartime service," (SSI - FWTS) recognizes soldiers' participation in combat operations.

My first tour in Vietnam was an XO &CO of Special Forces A-Teams . My second tour was flying Hueys with the 1st CAV and 1st Ave Bde. Of the three, I wore the SF patch on my right shoulder.

I am a civilian and have done research on the Hopi Code Talkers, They were in the 380 Bomber Division and their patches for the Flying Circus and King of the Heavies have awesome patches.
