I did my second deployment with them, the soldiers that wear them on both sleeves call them the "Wheels of Justice".

Served in the 82d a couple of years after Grenada and our Company Commander wore the gaging dragon patch. Turns out he was a pogue at the Corps HQ and just rode a C141 to Grenada and back one afternoon. Not a bit of action! Just because someone has a combat patch doesn't mean they know what their doing.

My usual patches, that I keep on hand are Pictured. Most of the time I rock the 89th MP BDE, I try not to Sandwich so the 18th is off my list for now. If theres a Loud mouth 5 Jumper running around calling every one a LEG, I'll adorne my 16th MP BDE patch (*I'm not airborne) and they have since lost the TAB for most of the BDE. USFORA is a new patch for me, just got it last year, but everyone here has it, and I like to be diffrent. Lastly the 1st MEF, used to wear it, and now i just keep one for the memories.

I was quite fond of it until I realized I don't like the idea of Jumping out of a perfectly good air plane. However Still my first Combat Patch, Handed to my by CSM Barrett (Now retired Former RCSM) and COL Quantock (Now MG, and the PMG). So It has some meaning to me.

SSG Martin, I was at Bliss before the Dragon made its appearance.  During my tenure in the 978th I rocked the FORSCOM, 16th ADA BDE, and then the 89th. I watched the BN change from the 76th MP Prov, to the 93d MP CMBT, 16th MP DET case it guidon, 591st came back to life, then the 202nd and the 212th. Very interesting, for a wile in the beginning of each company they had SPC PSGs, and PFC Squad Leaders.  591st at one point was no kidding 70% Female Private, Not a bad thing just an odd occurrence even in the MP Corps.

SSG Robert Blum Hooah. I was in the 16th, and in Iraq during the surge... The 89th was there too.... It seemed the 42nd and 18th were rotating with the 89th and the 16th. During 06-08 everyone in the BDE wanted to wear the 16th, and at the time the rules required you to wear the patch on your left sleeve... Several units did congressionals on us... because they had to wear their patch vs. the 16th... Crazy.

It has a proud WWII and Cold War History. It was my first unit patch. I saw it case colors and inactivate in 1992! Then I went home for discharge number 1

I don't think there is a right and wrong answer for this. I went over with 225th engineer Battalion 926 MAC compeny. I know, who the fuck is that, right? That was 107 part time combat engineers that did 411 days in RC East in Afghanistan. We cleared routes all damn day. Not one engineer was killed. To make other units feel safer about trusting us when we cleared the way, I would walk the entire unimproved route in the middle of the road. To me that is bad ass.
