What is your opinion on the news of Trump wanting a parade like North Korea has? Is he becoming a fool, unstable or in need of mental help?

If you really want to "support the troops", you can fly us all to Washington and make the civilians march in a parade for us while we watch. Marching in a parade is tedious and irksome. It's cool to watch, not participate. You don't honor us by "volunteering" us to be dancing monkeys for your amusement.

And take the money it would cost and divide it up and give each person a bonus. I think it would be a hefty one.

As a civilian, I’d love to watch us parade for you. It would be a belly laugh, but of appreciation

I think it will be a waste of precious time, energy and resources, all of which could be put to use in much better ways.

I originally thought along the same lines then I realized, which is cheaper, a show of force in a parade or sending B2 bombers from Missouri to South Korea for a show of force?

MAJ Byron Oyler - I don't consider a parade a show of force. I would consider a joint military exercise in the Far East a show of force. A bunch of troops walking down a road, marching in formation to parade music? Not so much.

North Korea has volunteered to send 200,000 ""volunteers"" to the Parade with a whole bunch of tanks

No real value added. Our tropps are already sttetchrd thin. Thos is not a simple parade. There will be tedious hours of practice. Face it, once you leave boot or basic, which ever you prefer, we do very little marching. Yes it would come back, but there would be hours and hours of practice before ant commander would march their troops in front of the POTUS!

Let's get all of the STOLEN VALOR HEROES, a few thousand POGs from the Pentagon and dress them in their fanciest uniforms
And don't forget these guys. They have been looking for a wall to guard since 1989, and the love a Parade

Adding Donald Trump (dt) to preen gives us "pretend" as in his imaginary fitness to serve.

I didn't mean to word wrong-but just angry that Trump is using the military as a prop. A parade is NOT necessary when it's like what Trump wants-put the money to good use: fix VA,Healthcare,Social Security,Education,Infrastructure.

I think there are already 6-8 threads on this topic and yours adds nothing to the discussion.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Can't help that. Doesn't change anything. Most don't know any better. Some, like you, do.
