If you travel to large metropolitan US cities, which one do you generally feel safer in? Why? Which one do you try to avoid? Why?

I prefer small towns or rural living (farmland or ranches). Big cities give me the creeps.

Houston. Not on Isis list and Texas is not politically correct like Seattle to invite and subsidize a threat.

Good grief sir, Houston is the armpit of Texas. Every highway is always under construction and crime is rampant. Texas is the best country in the world, but what's your #2 city there?

LOL 1SG (Join to see) I agree, Texas is the best country in the world. I feel safe in any city in TX as long as I'm carrying.

Crime is only high in high risk areas, like in any city. Huston has issues, most related to continued uncontrolled growth because of a stronger than average economy, but it is pretty safe. I live south of the city on the water. I really like it down there and it is very safe. And you can still drive into the city for everything you need.

I do not like cities. It's not that I don't feel safe it's just I don't like them. Give me open spaces!

It's a house divided: Austin & New Orleans. Both enjoy southern hospitality and a healthy respect for the second amendment. I avoid Seattle & Portland like the plague...both are severe traffic choke points.

Fine in San Francisco or Oakland I'm fine. I grew up in Philadelphia and like New York and could be happy there. LA is alright but not it's suburbs. I've never been to Chicago or Seattle. I was born and raised in cities. I am more comfortable than where I have to travel miles by car to get things. When I lived in San Francisco, I once looked a my Land Rover and realized I hadn't moved it for over a month
