It was told to me many years ago, that as long as you can wake up in the morning and tell yourself "I am so glad I GET to go to work today" instead of saying "I HAVE to go to work today" then you are doing the right thing.

Personally I love what I do. Leading Soldiers and having the opportunity to be a leader in the Army is a truly rewarding experience.

So what is it for you? Even if you are now retired and are a civilian, there has to be something that keeps you doing what you do.

Pete, the best memories of my daughter is her at 3 sitting on my lap and watching Te New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh followed by The Little Mermaid. That was 16 years ago but not to me!!! Give angel a hug from Unkie Mark!

SFC Mark Merino, Funny how some things stand the test of time...

My mother (77 years old) read Winnie as a little girl, I read the book and watched the Disney cartoon (made in the late 70's), my nephew watched the Pooh stories in the 90's, and now my little girl (she's 4) is a big fan...

Proof that they just don't make things like they used to...

I get up in the mornings because of my family, I see the smile on my wife face and I know that I am doing my part to keep her and my babies safe. When I came to America 14 years I just wanted to give back to a nation that have given me much more than I had dreamed about.

Right now I am still enjoying retirement so getting up in the mornings has it's own rewards I guess....Being an NCO especially when I was instructing made me look forward to getting up each day!

The simple prospect that one day Publisher's Clearinghouse or Heidi Klum will be knocking on my door (the latter HOPEFULLY when the Mrs. isn't around) :-)
