Military Culture, is American Culture, it is Humane. You can take the war fighter away from home, but home will always be with them.

I absolutely LOVE the first picture of the female soldier holding the hand of the little child. It is so humanizing. It harkens back to pictures from WW2 of soldiers taking care of the innocent civilian victims of warfare.

This is a philosophical question.
The best answer I can give is "people together."
The military culture supports "teamwork" therefore any picture representing that should be of a group of people, as opposed to individuals. It should highlight that concept. "People = good" and "Individual = 'bad'" if that makes sense.

There are some really, really amazing photos suggested here, but no presentation on Army culture can be really honest without this.

I would suggest some shots of SMs helping each other, definitely something from a joint environment as that is becoming more prevalent. Also some combat shots, anything that shows teamwork, and diversity of cultures and genders. If you would like to provide more details on your presentation I'm sure the RP community, as they have shown already, can provide additional input.

I recommend juxtapositions. Show soldiers drilling, then show them playing soccer/basketball/softball. Show squared away uniforms, then show shopping for threads at the Exchange. Show training, then show community service. By all means, Yes ... show them praying!!

I put together a video for my Menlo Park, VA PTSD group that can be used for just about anything. It took forever to put it together and is 7:45 long. I can't attach it but can send it to an email I think (never tried)
I just posted it on facebook for you.

I found that some of the most telling photos have come from the Pacific Theater of WW2. Here is an article from the Daily Mail that has a lot of pictures that might be helpful.

Hell in the Pacific: Rare World War II photographs show American soldiers' fight for survival in...
Black-and-white photographs, captured by Life magazine photographer W. Eugene Smith, show the everyday horrors for the U.S. soldiers fighting Japanese forces on the Mariana Island of Saipan in 1944.
