That's funny. He seems like such a likeable guy. Now this ... mis-remembering. Why?

He disrespects every veteran alive or deceased that did active combat by taking credit for actions that he had no part in. Sadly this is far too common. The landslide appeal for the Military vet with movies like American Sniper only tempts more to contemplate fraud. I will vehemently defend my military combat experienced brothers and sisters but Brian Williams just took us down a notch.

If he is allowed to come back he should be forced to lead all story's with "this is no shit".

I propose to give him approximately the same amount of attention and respect I did before this incident.

Well they do not give you a purple heart for almost getting shot or your buddy get shot. You at least have get splashed with rice on your fanny. They do give you a presidential node. Where is Mike Wallace when you need to slap a little boy. So does this put Brian Williams with the stolen valor community. I keep hearing about this college all these guys went to called MSU.
A public shaming well deserved!

I just heard that Brian Williams is stepping aside for several days. This could be the beginning of his end as the anchor of NBC News.

Brian Williams stepping aside for 'next several days'
Brian Williams is stepping aside from his "NBC Nightly News" amid mounting questions about the accuracy of a story he told about an Iraq War mission in 2003.

I read the article that USA today put out in the weekend edition and my blood boiled. It basically excised his actions and tried to say it could happen to anyone. On top of that it inputs that he may 'recover' his career because he's just so LIKABLE.
WHAT! ? If that's the case then why not start just excusing all lies..... go back to Clinton and apologize. He was helpful with the economy.
Then the other article was basically trying to justify the Air Forces attempted elimination of the A10 because of too many friendly fire and collateral incidences." Bad weekend to read the newspaper. ......

What should happen to him for this is already happening, and is possibly the worst thing that a news personality can bring upon himself/herself. Loss of credibility. Unfortunately, people's memories are short when it comes to public personalities.

Williams epitomizes exactly what is wrong with the formerly big 3 networks, CBS, ABC, and NBC. They often edit the news to slant the news to favor a particular group or voting sector, and then glorify themselves by embellishing in events that are bold faced lies. If NBC leadership has any integrity, they will fine and fire this liar. It does equate to stolen valor. What was he attempting to gain from this? Mrs. Clinton embellished a story about her being under sniper fire years ago, and the Press, who is supposed to keep our political parties and administration honest, dismissed it as no big deal. Well here is the payback, Mr. Williams. You go out of your way to protect the party members you favor, but waste no time going after those who you find disdain for. You and your cronies are the reason that journalism is dead in this country. You need to step down, which leaves you a granule of dignity, or you need to be fired. Bye bye, and good riddance!

His credibility will always be questioned. He did this to himself. He made the choice to lie and now he has to live with himself no matter what happens. In civilian life if you rob a bank you are a bank robber and if you lie, you will always be a liar. Hell, look at all the sex offenders. They will always be sex offenders no matter what. Williams is a liar and he will always be a liar. As a matter of fact, what else has he and other reporters lied about? It always amazes me how these news reporters stretch the truth and sometimes make up lies of what really is happening. Look at what the news media did in Vietnam? Vietnam was the first time that the news media brought the news to everyone in the States that watched it on the nightly news and the negative results were felt by all of us who served . When are we going to smarten up and keep these news people away from the front lines They are just going to make up things anyway just to boost their own egos and ratings. Just my two cents! SF!
