What shouldn't be done if you want to succeed in the military?

LCDR Nicholas Mulcahey.....You're absolutely correct it can be a quick way to be reduce in rank and kick out the service, or maybe jail time.

Also, limit what you tell your family and friends your important role in the military, I meant an middle age lady who was bragging about her son-in-law being a Sniper in the Army and repeating some things he had told her. Then again, she could have been lying just to make her son-in-law look good, but certain thinks keep to yourself.

I don't think you needed to lighten that with the "seriousness" comment, Nick. FB, and the internet in general, has made a world of folks that believe that their commentary is totally anonymous and will NEVER affect them - and we all know that's not true. The number of times I've seen posts from folks spouting vitriol and threatening bodily harm - only to creep their page and see that they are in the military members - just astounds me.

I've done that one before, but nothing could be done about it as it was a DUI recall formation and I had a designated driver.

My step dad was a bartender in Hollywood. Clint Walker came in always to this bar drunk as a skunk. He was the actor on a old TV series Cheyenne. One evening he comes in and there is someone like me sitting at the end of the bar. He calls guy a piss ant. This fellow walks up to walker and says what did you call me? Walker pushes this guy and before you know it walkers nose it broken, hie arm is broken and his leg. The police come and say walker again. I guess he met his match. You never know who you are messing with. Like me.
