Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Since it is simply a case of liberal politics I suggest leaving the names as they were...Ft. Bragg is known throughout the country and very few people around here ( Southern Pines, N.C. ) call it anything but Bragg, the home of the 82nd Airborne.

I can only hope we get a decent President that revokes this crap of renaming history once he gets into office. I served at Benning, Bragg, Lee, and I will never call them anything else. Only communists want to erase a country's history.

I was at Tank Hill also, first Infantry course since Vietnam was taught there, they brought in drill instructors from Benning to run it. Never forget it that time.

SGT, to begin with ALL Confederate soldiers and officers are now considered US veterans by an Act of Congress on two separate occasions. Therefore, it would seem appropriate that an individual who had shown outstanding leadership and military proficiency or heroism should be nominated. Leadership and heroism on the field of battle should be recognized because it sets an example for others to follow. Regardless of whether one sides with the North or South an outstanding soldier is an outstanding soldier. To me Fort Benning will always be Benning.

Totally agree Sir. It is another attempt by Liberals to remove our country's history. Doing that is pure communism. I will always call Fort Jackson exactly that. I took Basic training there and to Advanced Infantry training at Fort Polk.

Leave them be. Those are US Veterans, by Law. If people are "offended", they need to learn the real History of the conflict, beginning with the French and Indian War. Unresolved issues tend to fester up over time. Slavery played a minor role till Lincoln made it the sole issue to cover up the True reasons why Brother fought Brother. Should the US Army also stop learning the Military tactics employed by these Generals, like that of Lt. General Nathan Bedford Forrest?

I would suggest and recommend to reconsider the entire Bad Idea and Leave the original Post Names as they currently are. I AM Sick to Death of the Liberal Agenda crowd tearing down all of our historical monuments because of WHO they were and WHAT they did, just because that's what Liberals do best. Too bad that it hurt your feelings, or "Triggered" you to have uneasy feelings and bad dreams. These Names and Monuments REPRESENT OUR History AND OUR Heritage! WE, The Real People and Citizens of the U.S.A. want those things left alone, UNCHANGED!! Let the Liberal crowd deal with it. Not only those wacko's, but the 'alphabet' crowd too with their unethical demands and ramming their way of life down OUR Throats, with the sex changes and the drag Queen shows, and teaching & showing children dirty-rotten things that their virgin eyes should Not be viewing. I'm Tired and Sickened that WE have to change OUR ways around them and for them! That Rainbow Flag doesn't belong and should NEVER be flown on the same flagpole with OUR American Flag!! If you call this HateSpeech, I really don't give a damn, Too Bad! I Served My Country - Faithfully, and am Sick of being pushed around by the crowd that is Ruining and Damaging Our Country!!

Why stop there? Let's rename New Mexico and New Jersey. Jersey is a place in the British Empire they enslaved and colonized more then half of the world. How come nobody is changing that name. And of course we have to change Washington State and Washington D.C.
Are we really trying to live in a world in which we deny history. The reason these bases were named after these men is to reconcile and rebuild a nation through respect of others beliefs. Right or wrong, they fought for what they thought was right at the time. Slavery was one issue. It was the intrusion of the federal government on the states rights that was the cornerstone of the Civil War.

Leave our statues, bases and history alone. The people behind this nonsense and the bums tearing down statues, more than likely, never served. Who needs any of them?

To take a less serious approach name them after famous action hero characters. Fort Rambo, Fort Bourne, Fort Bauer.

If you didn't serve then you have no voice, if you don't have a DD-214 you have no vote. You can't lie you way out of history, nor can you hide from it by changing a name. Suit up or shut up!!! If you don't like it the boarder has a second side to it, go find it.
