PO1 My son spend a year there. He told me the AF was treated much better. Said he got his furniture from a AF MSgt.

MSgt John McGowan - The AF definitely treats their Airmen good. Their temporary berthing hooch was located next to ours. They had a nice big TV, tables, nice cushy chairs, big refrigerator. We had a couple gray metal chairs, a 12 inch TV sitting on a chair, and a mini fridge...lol

PO1 Make friends with the AF. How do you think my son got the MSgt's old furniture. He told me it was better than what he had. But he is squared away now. He works for the AF at depot level as a WL on F-15's.

Not sure the exact dates, but I finished AIT at Ft. Ben and arrived at We-gotcha somewhere around Apr or May 78, got sent off for some specialized training at HP, which earned me a stabilized tour of 36 months, and ETS'd in Dec 81. The patch on the mountain, now long gone, was still there when I arrived.
