So this CSM from the the 8th MP BDE seems to be out of regulations. From the comments she has been corrected but she claims she is being harassed. I don't even understand how she got to be a CSM at a BDE. What COL out there is letting this happen? In one of the photos she is wearing stilettos in uniform. WTF? What kind of example is this. The worst is from a Facebook user that said:

"This one!!!! Holy **** she was in charge of us in Afghanistan!! I could go on and on about this toxic leader!! Trying to maintain professionalism but this one.....when a CSM so jacked up like this, she was laughing her ass off during our rehearsal of my brothers ceremony after he was killed in Afghanistan, she f***ing yelled at me because I "took too long saying my goodbye " as I'm f***ing crying kneeling in front of it. This post will probably get me in trouble, and ruin the rest of my army career as well as my day and my army experience."

What would you do if you were there? What if you were on command?

What should the Army do about this?

(Thanks to Army MP WTF Moments and it's followers for the photos.)

**************UPDATE************************
The 8th Theater Sustainment Command CSM will be travelling to the 8th MP BDE to have some one on one time with this CSM. It is amazing as leaders will do when they are being called out. He should have done that a long time ago.

Can we ask that RP take this discussion thread down? I just get sick of looking at her with that huge squirrels nest of hair. Nasty!

Amazing the tangential degree to which fear of reprisal from someone way up on high can get for the underlings such that this went on long enough to last until she was, not just a SGM, but a CSM! Equally amazing is the degree of apathy (or ignorance?) from those who could have done something but did not.

An excerpt from the AR 670-1 on hair styles is;
Leaders judge the appropriateness of a particular hairstyle by the appearance of headgear when worn. Soldiers will wear headgear as described in the applicable chapters of AR 670-1. Headgear will fit snugly and comfortably, without distorted or excessive gaps. Soldiers may not wear hairstyles that do not allow proper wear of headgear, or that interfere with the proper wear of the protective mask or other protective equipment.

Extreme, eccentric, or trendy haircuts or hairstyles are not authorized. If soldiers use dyes, tints, or bleaches, they must choose those that result in natural hair colors. Colors that detract from a professional military appearance are prohibited. Soldiers should avoid using colors that result in an extreme appearance. Applied hair colors that are prohibited include, but are not limited to purple, blue, pink, green, orange, bright (fire engine) red, and fluorescent or neon colors. It is the responsibility of leaders to use good judgment in determining if applied colors are acceptable, based upon the overall effect on the soldier's appearance.

Female soldiers will ensure their hair is neatly groomed, that the length and bulk of the hair are not excessive, and that the hair does not present a ragged, unkempt, or extreme appearance. Likewise, trendy styles that result in shaved portions of the scalp (other than the neckline) or designs cut into the hair are prohibited. Dreadlocks (unkempt, twisted, matted individual parts of hair) are prohibited in uniform or in civilian clothes on duty. Hair will not fall over the eyebrows or extend below the bottom edge of the collar at any time during normal activity or when standing in formation. Long hair that falls naturally below the bottom edge of the collar, to include braids, will be neatly and inconspicuously fastened or pinned, so no free-hanging hair is visible. This includes styles worn with the improved physical fitness uniform (IPFU).

Styles that are lopsided or distinctly unbalanced are prohibited. Ponytails, pigtails, or braids that are not secured to the head (allowing hair to hang freely), widely spaced individual hanging locks, and other extreme styles that protrude from the head are prohibited. Extensions, weaves, wigs, and hairpieces are authorized only if these additions have the same general appearance as the individual's natural hair. Additionally, any wigs, extensions, hairpieces, or weaves must comply with grooming policies.

Females will ensure that hairstyles do not interfere with proper wear of military headgear, protective masks, or equipment at any time. When headgear is worn, the hair will not extend below the bottom edge of the front of the headgear or below the bottom edge of the collar.

She should be counseled by an officer with a witness along equal to her rank. If she doesn't take corrective action then the Code from the UCMJ comes into play. She can be charged with disobeying an order if the corrective officer feels she has not complied and a reduction in rank, forfeiture of pay or both could be imposed upon her. Maybe it's time she retire!

This is stolen valor in full display. A CSM would not violate the code of conduct like this. Then again, the PC that has politicized our military may have turned our military into an undisciplined rag tag bunch of groups.

Is this person still on AD? I hope not. She feels harrassed?!? It's her own fault.

Inspector general and or open door policy would come into play if chain of command did not bring this under control. Regulations are there for a reason. If this noncom is still able to fly under the radar you best bet she either has something on superiors or is performing night maneuvers with same. Her behavior is a direct reflection on command. I personally saw this sort of thing happen during my enlistment.

I would remind the CSM of her non-compliance and alert senior leadership of this matter.

Because even the Army has come to this: Political Correctness. If she were not black, do you think this would have been corrected LONG ago? Yes. She is a horrible example for women in the military.
