Granted there are quite a few wannabes out there but come on. We should NOT be putting our hands on any person. Call the police!

As a Veteran andand LEO, even 'simple' or misdemeanor assault is an arrestable crime. Of course I didn't observe this but if these Are the facts, these ASSCLOWNS should've vbeen arrested on the spot! Why the LEO's did not do this is beyond me! I would certainly find out if a criminal report was made (as it should have been) , then obtain said copy and forward such to their respective Commands' Provost Marshal or Master-At-Arms. If its found the LEO's did NOT properly do their job, I would also file a complaint with both the IA Supervisor of the Department and withh the Airport's FSD (Federal Security Director). In other words, HEADS WOULD ROLL!

1LT William Clardy - I don't think you watched that short vid of this vet crying and him saying (while crying) from what I can tell, this has cause him to relapse into SERIOUS PTSD. A double Purple Heart Vet from vietnam. This guy was and is severely traumatized by what happened, you can tell. It is awful.

SPC Christopher Perrien, do you really think that getting into a pissing contest with airport security about their LEO responsibilities will address this veteran's sense of injury? I don't.
I think that actually getting a sincere apology from some sincerely remorseful Marines would be more meaningful in undoing the damage done, and I have spelled out the course of action which I think has the highest probability of producing that result -- something which no court is likely to do.

1LT William Clardy - Well you have a point, but I was not as concerned about the Law not upholding their responsibilities, which may have mitigated this Vet's distress immediately as the vet himself noted, I was more concerned with just the sheer dishonor he went though that caused him the distress in the first place. I am much more mad at the action of the Marines than the lack of action by the police, the vet himself looks at it differently , which is why I said you have a point.
About a convoluted post , I know.

Sometimes cops give breaks to military members. Maybe the cops figured it wasn't s major issue.... I agree though. Punks should have been arrested.

The result of our "journalistic" endeavours. It's more important to cover these high interest (read ratings) stories than actual stories. The abundance of "stolen valour" stories, rightly or wrongly, has led to this.

Take no offense of what a Jar head tells you ! remember they train them to be sheep dogs. It doesn't matter if you had a medal out of place or missing or any issue with your uniform if thats the case. We veterans know in our hearts what we did to contribute to our nation and no one can take that from us. Thank you for your service, God Bless you

I've been confronted countless times whether I'm a veteran or not. It's very unsettling and insulting that my retired military ID is the only way to get someone to believe me.

I get this daily from my critics who have to belittle my service in order to evoke a reaction as ignorant as their assault. They usually wind up going off

It's horrible! No.1 we should have more respect for our elders (his wife was with him), two I'm sure his Vietnam Sercixe ball cap was on, or simply by his age one could tell what era he came from. It's deplorable, and they didn't arrest these idiots. A sad state of affairs. I wouldn't accept one damn apology from any of them. One mistake is a mistake too many. Like I seriosuly give a shit if someone is a poser. If that's. The case then take the military memorabilia off line and only make it accessible to active/reserve/retired/separated members of the armed forces. We got more important shit to worry about.
