Quiet acts of private kindness and humanity are what will improve our country. There is one race, the human race.

Because it sells more stories to throw the race card around. We should always strive to be green, blue- whatever our branch is- we have no time for the race card BS.

News stations don't report news they sell news.

Humans naturally pay more attention to negative things. Hence the idea of "hunting the good stuff".

The stories are negative because they knew people on all sides of the issue will tune in a watch. When we watch, the stations can charge more for advertising slots during commercial breaks.

One reason: FLOTUS sez, "I wake up every morning in a house built by slaves."
The current White House was NOT built by slaves, but by real construction companies.
Like FLOTUS, misdirection. She really thinks she's an educated person talking to "slaves".

The old saying for the newspapers and news channels is "If it bleeds, it leads." As this does not create discontent among the masses and as such would not generate ratings and income to the media so it will not be aired.

SSG Pete Fleming - In general, as least as I see it, shows that our society as a whole (world wide) is in a sad twisted state of affairs. Gone are the days of doing right by yourself and for your fellow man. Too many folks are trying to shame others into believing as they do. Perhaps this is how it has always been, but certainly social media does not help the matters any. Makes it worse, in fact.

SSG Pete Fleming - I mean, let us look at how things are. Many people feel that they are unhappy about pretty much anything, and so in order to make themselves feel better they feel compelled to make others suffer as they do. If one becomes offended by the story of the tooth fairy, then they feel they must go on a crusade to get the tooth fairy banned from all things in society. Why? Because they feel they must in order to protect others in some sort of twisted logic of justice for all. Years ago, I remember a case where some dude filed a lawsuit on behalf of his kid, to get the Pledge of Allegiance banned from schools because HE found it offensive. So, in his twisted crusade, he felt compelled to get EVERYONE from saying it. People today really don't want to think for themselves instead opt for some celebrity to think for them and tell them how to live and act and vote. Even these young stupid kids that think going around assaulting people in that "knock out" game is hilarious and then crying like babies and blaming others when they get busted for committing the crime.

As said good news doesn't sell. But, I think even more important is that those involved do not view it as news.

I know I can not tell you the race, nationality, etc of the last people I have helped. Why would I take note of it?

I agree... just wish the news would show the good sometimes. I remember when the 6 o'clock news would end on an upbeat story... but now in the age of 24 hours in your face...
