I support this as long as I can transfer the education on to my granddaughter. I tried to do that but I was told that I can't. I should have done that before I retired. Funny thing is that no one told me that when I was filling out my paperwork for my retirement.

Not sure about transferring so would not do your concern justice to try and answer. My wish is that someone had told you before you retired.

Yes, but doesn't the post 9/11 GI bill already do better than that?

Maj Chris Nelson - I must agree but still doing the research on post 9/11 so will educate myself more. I am sure a cap would have to be instituted and I'm thinking all that would be defined on the legislative floor once we get it to that point. My task now is to get it to that point. Thanks for responding.

If you received a CLRP to pay $6600 of college loans through the US Air Force, then you gave up your MGIB whether you paid $1200 into it or not on day one. Then you got to sleep in the streets for three years when you were done serving while these clowns talked about a Post 9/11 GI Bill. Now they nickel and dime that program as well while people like me, who served four years of aggregate duty after 9/10/2001, get to sleep in your damn streets without an education. Now its my turn to fix it. I'm sure you all understand the capability difference between a veteran software engineer and a Congressman. They talk about helping veterans, and veterans actually do it. Now, I'm going to just do it and it is THEM who can "shut up and color".

SrA Joseph Logan - I can understand your frustration which is why I established the Military Occupational Skills Conversion Institute or MOSCI but if I may ask, what are you working on?

My plan is to use my AF taught Java skills to build an application that accepts charity and puts it in the hands of validated veterans. Basically, its time for people to put their money where they mouth is. :)

No, I'm done watching bureaucrats leverage veterans into dumpsters by promising education and failing to deliver. They set up case work lines and abuse the program, so it is time to accept private charity of $4 billion, and remove the US government from this process. That's my solution, and it will be finished in 2020 whether these people like it or not.

I'm sorry I don't understand. Are you saying turn over the education system to private investors?

No, I am saying to turn it over to private charity and make the government run programs useless.
