I agree with CDR (Join to see). It seems as though WWP has lost their way.

"In addition to raising millions of dollars a year for breast cancer research, fundraising giant Susan G. Komen for the Cure has a lesser-known mission that eats up donor funds: patrolling the waters for other charities and events around the country that use any variation of "for the cure" in their names.
So far, Komen has identified and filed legal trademark oppositions against more than a hundred of these Mom and Pop charities, including Kites for a Cure, Par for The Cure, Surfing for a Cure and Cupcakes for a Cure--and many of the organizations are too small and underfunded to hold their ground."

Wounded Warrior Project spends 58% of donations on veterans programs
Editor's note: As part of a yearlong investigation into charities across the nation, the Tampa Bay Times and its reporting partner, the Center for Investigative Reporting, asked readers in June to suggest nonprofits for closer review. Readers responded with nearly 300 suggestions. In the coming months, the Times and CIR will examine some of those charities and share what we found.
I myself am a disabled vet and a member of the WWP. So far I can only say good things about them. I recently fell on hard times and could not pay bills, they reached out to me and sent me gift cards so I could at least pay for groceries. They are helping me with trying to find a job again, and randomly call me to just check up on me. They even called me on my birthday to wish me a Happy Birthday.
I have no personal experience with WWP.
However, some of their "business" practices are questionable. There are quite a few reports about the amount of money they spend suing other charitable/veteran centric organizations over the use of "wounded warrior" and similarities to the WWP logo.
While I can understand wanting to protect their brand, it would seem they are a bit overzealous and somewhat of a bully about it. Additionally, Veterans are the ones losing out as the plaintiff's and defendant's are usually both non-profit Veteran support organizations spending money that could otherwise be used to support Veterans.

‘Wounded Warrior’ Charity Unleashes Hell—On Other Veteran Groups
What happens when a nonprofit that was started to help veterans becomes the neighborhood bully?
Many years ago the VFW helped me complete the paperwork - they like many other veterans support organizations have well-trained people who are there primarily to help you get into the VA system and help you work out follow-on issues.
If you have not submitted a packet to the VA, I strongly encourage you to do so.
I recommend you check out Veterans Benefits if you have not already done so.

After that I recommend you take a look at the VA Health webpage.

What ever happened to people donating there time and effort, not holding there hand. WWP is a JOB to people, there not helping veterans cause it's the right thing to do, nope its a JOB.
SPC Chad Kolod you said you wanted a computer for school did you ever ask the local VFW for help getting one? The DAV can help too. Scouts Out.
I understand WWP is a great and wonderful thing for some people, but for the veterans here in southern WV they depend on each other and the people they can shake hands with. Scouts Out
