Thanks Dale for your post of the coast guard hero, Charles W. David Jr. It is good to remember those who gave up their lives to save others May He Rest IN Peace and MAY God BE With Him.

Thank You Brother Dale for This Week in History: Charles W. David, Jr., WWII Hero. What a brave, brave MAN. This story sounds like he should have been awarded the MOH to me, for he did give his life to save others.

Why is this the first time I've ever read about the rescue operations after Dorchester sank? These men, especially David should have been heralded and a household name. Such a terrible shame to relegate a hero to the back pages of history.
