No they were not prepared SP5 Dennis Loberger. Cloud seeding is suspected cause, yet Climate Change cannot be ruled out.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel, news here suggests that the storm dumped some large volume of water that flights into Dubai and other UAE airports had to be diverted. The storm even affected Saudi Arabia. It is a very unnatural phenomenon.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel The rains began late Monday, soaking the sands and roadways of Dubai with some 20 millimetres of rain, according to meteorological data collected at Dubai International Airport.

SGT (Join to see), it affected flights in the UAE for sure, especially Dubai. This storm also affected parts of Saudi Arabia. It is a highly unnatural phenomenon.
