Carbon emissions from the U.S. have declined in recent years, but they are certainly not at their lowest level.
The latest numbers from the World Bank show U.S. carbon emissions at levels last seen in the mid-1990s. Emissions were much lower in the 1980s and earlier decades.
Energy-related emissions fell 0.9 percent in 2017 compared with a year earlier and were 14 percent below 2005 levels, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The drop in emissions is attributed to a number of factors including state and federal regulations and more use of natural gas, which is less carbon-intensive than coal for power production.

Even if Trump is off quite a bit, let's juxtaposed cities like Mumbai and the industrial Heartland of China and compare how many second stage smog alert we've had in a long time compared to what China and India have all the time. China and India are not going to pay carbon taxes while Democrats and Canadian liberals want this to happen to the Western world. This is not fair. Second and third world don't take carbon taxes and don't comply with the emissions yet pressure is put on are ministration with the Kyoto Accords that the Western Europeans and the Canadians foolishly signed up for with the Japanese.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Reduction of emissions are a fact of life for America and California. I read today that China agrees with controls, after several years during which their noxious output will increase. It will be several years before other nations meet the goal America is striving for. We lead the way, and get dumped on regardless!
