I can agree that not all people on pain meds abuse them because I didn't when I first was prescribed 120 Lortab 10mg pills every 30 days. But then my tolerance went up and I started getting 90 perk 10s and 90 oxycontin 20s a month (180pills). Eventually I overdosed and almost died a few times because I did become addicted for the simple fact the pain meds didn't solve my pain problems because my tolerance was so high. I'm not saying that it works that way with everyone about how your body tolerance reacts. Everyone is different. I have been off pain meds for 3 years and I take Enbrel for my pain but that's also an arthritis pain so it works for me. And this world is never going to change when it comes to people abusing the system and that's why he in South Carolina if you don't have a really good reason to be prescribed pain pills then you won't get them unless you're going to resort to buying then of the street..

Not all opioid users are addicts and this fake ass news is getting out of control. I hate that I have to use a narcotic pain medicine and I sure didn’t expect my life to be the way it is but without my pain medicine I cannot function. To blast everyone who uses opioids as a drug addiction is BS. I don’t abuse my medicine I take what I need and prescribed and I don’t have run in with the law. Is there a problem in the world YES but it is not everyone. These abusers and doctor who hand it out like candy have made it hard for the real people who need these medicines.

SGT Mark Rhodes - some people need opiates or opiate substitutes for chronic pain that is never going to go away. If other people don't understand that, F'em. You don't owe them an explanation nor a response.

https://health.mil/News/Articles/2018/07/12/There-is-hope Another article calling the epidemic out of control. This is just way out of control how they keep pushing this into the news making it look like it’s the worst thing going on in the world.

I missed the part where it was suggested all opioid users are addicts or that they commit crimes. While I have been in the health care industry long enough to know that the statement that all users are not addicts is true, I can also say I have seen a number of individuals who have succumbed to the control of opioids and resorted to stealing to support their habit.
