About

Bloomington is most well-known as the home of Indiana University, which provide a diverse and unique culture to the community.  But Bloomington and Monroe County have a fascinating heritage outside of being a college town, one influenced by Midwestern values.  It's this special blend of international culture and education with hard work and hospitality that help make Bloomington so special.  Local residents take great pride in the unique character of the community, and they are happy to share it with visitors and new residents.

Advice for those moving here

Check out the schools first. The three area high schools have unique offerings...Bloomington South: Best Athletics; Bloomington North: Best Concert Band; Edgewood: Best Marching Band and Choirs.

Another consideration is that State Road 37 is becoming Interstate 69, so access to the major highway north and south is changing.
