* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Nash County in central North Carolina...
Warren County in central North Carolina...
Edgecombe County in central North Carolina...
Halifax County in central North Carolina...
Northeastern Franklin County in central North Carolina...

* Until 715 PM EDT

* At 559 PM EDT, a line of severe thunderstorms was moving through
the area, located from Henderson to Louisburg to Rocky Mount,
moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Nashville, Warrenton,
Halifax, Scotland Neck, Norlina, Dortches and Littleton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central North
Carolina. A tornado watch also remains in effect until midnight EDT
for central North Carolina.
