To those troops leaving Drum to go anywhere is a much needed vacation from Drum itself.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Actually I've never been there....thank goodness. Had quite a few leaders from there, and none of em gave that place five star reviews. On the flip side of that, I LOVED Ft. Riley, and folks think I'm completely off my rocker. No one likes Ft. RIley

I served 3 years with the 10th. Yes, Drum itself sucks ass. the ranges are all marshy as shit. But, you like to fish, hunt or just be outside. The surrounding areas are quite pleasant. Syracuse was less than an hour. Alexandria Bay was 30 minutes away. And you could spit into Canada. But, I did have some good training while I was there. My leadership was great. I served with 2nd BN, 22nd INF. Bravo Company. We have a history there. I'd like to deploy with them again, but it's not the same as when I was there.
