Great illustrations Brother Dale. This was such a terrible time for the French.

It sure was. They had almost 12,000 POWs--of whom nearly 4,500 were wounded. They There was no accurate accounting of KIAs. The Red Cross eventually extracted more than 800 seriously wounded. The remainder went into detention. After four months, only 3,290 men were repatriated. The remainder died in captivity of starvation, ruthless beatings, or disease in the squalid camps.
