The bottom line is batteries are not only highly combustible but are in the category of hazardous waste already even before any added coating. Keep in mind even without burning a leaking battery can cause injury and chemical burns by any contact with Your body, skin or even devices they are used and contained within. . There still is no good way to dispose of these batteries other than being brought to hazardous waste centers.
