I am a US Army Retired permanently Disabled Veteran living in Germany. I am also a writer. I used to travel often but not as much now during this pandemic. I also create posters. I have an online site for my posters and a blog where I post my short stories. Blessed to be enjoying life one day at a time in this beautiful country.

I miss Germany, Had a short tour there; October 1972 to December 1981. Three years in Kaiserslautern and six years in Heidelberg. Camped in my VW camper from Italy to Norway and from Austria to The Netherlands.

I was in Heidelberg also while in the Army. One of my best assignment was in OCINCUSAREUR, Keyes Building, Campbell Barracks and later at V Corps, G1, EO Office, Campbell Barracks.

I agree. I enjoy traveling from time to time but can't do much of that right now until things cool down. Hopefully soon.

I did many tours in Germany.

92 - 96 in Grefrath-Moenchengladbach
96 - 98 in Kaiserslautern
Loved the country, history, food and beverages (now I'm a non drinker).

I was in Kaiserslautern in the Army and as a DOD civilian. Was in Hanau on Argonner Kaserne as a DOD civilian. Loved the Kaiserslautern area and still do. Visited France often since it was so close. Great times. Ramstein AF Base is being built up. Lots of changes. New entrance gates and new hospital under construction to replace Landstuhl.

Is there still a French commissary near K-town? I frequently shopped there for wine, escargot & bread when passing by en route to Ramstein AB on TDY from Wiesbaden.

Not sure. I know there is still a Canadian PX on Ramstein Air Base.

Welcome to the party, SFC Metz! Where are you living in Germany? I was privileged to live there from 1973-'76, two years in Wiesbaden & one year in Stuttgart. Beautiful country, wonderful people, and the food & beer are incredible! You are indeed blessed!

Thanks for the contact. I'm about 15 minutes from Wiesbaden. As you described it, it still is as beautiful with so many wonderful people. And the beer and wine are still incredible! :o)
