I wanted to go as well. However, Virginia now has a Republican Governor and things are turning around....now to get rid of all those imbeciles on the school boards especially in Northern VA and the ones in the State Senate!

I can relate to the desire for a change of scenery. When I was contemplating a move a while back, I stumbled upon https://www.movingtowinnipeg.ca/moving-to-winnipeg-from-toronto/ and found some great insights into the process. Even though the stats show a decline in migration, exploring new places like Winnipeg from Toronto could be an exciting opportunity for those seeking a fresh start. It's all about finding the right fit for you.

I was talking with a few of our recent transplants at a party a few weeks ago. A common theme was that they were all remote workers who decided to move to their "forever home" in Florida while still working. My son in Maine is another example, while he moved there for work over 10 years ago he has since changed jobs but the ability to work remotely and not have to move the family was a key factor in accepting the position.
