Did see this about a Christmas tree donated to remember veterans?
Folks in Kingsport gathered Friday to honor the memory of veterans. Some of the veterans have passed on but some that were honored are still with us today.
A 25 foot Christmas tree was donated and erected downtown. Folks donated photos of their family that were in the service and they were posted on the tree as a reminder of their sacrifice. Check out the video.

At today’s event the distinguished guest of honor was Leland A. Davis. Davis was a fighter pilot who served in World War II. His daughter, Nacy Hampson was the one who had the idea to donate the tree and give families a chance to honor their service men and women.
“He’s very proud to be an American. And today to be with family and friends when you are 93, you don’t take that for granted” ,said his daughter Nancy Hampson.
“He is thrilled to be out of the nursing home for a few hours.”

This reminds me of the Points of Light Campaign COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I hope that there will be literally thousands of Christmas tress donated to honor and remember veterans and that many veterans in need of hope will be able to see these trees and be warmed this Christmas - physically and in their heart of hearts.
