The 1938 case Green plan to invade Czechoslovakia was made moot by the annexation of the Sudetenland after Chamberlain uttered Peace for our time at the ludicrous Munich conference in 1938.
Thankfully the potential November 1945 Operation Olympic was made moot by the dropping of atomic munitions on Hiroshima nd Nagasaki in August 1945.
Napoleon's plan and Hitler's plans to invade England were foolish as was the Third Reich's plan to invade the mountain kingdom of Switzerland.

What if..... I attended training in Germany, taught in English, the official language of NATO. The German officer was speaking to the class of various European nations, military officers, and insisting they learn and speak (write) English. Because, the Allies won WWII, we speak English and that is that. Not German, not Russian or French, but English, get used to it.

Operation Olympic was to involve 30 days of preliminary bombing. This would have been Japanese civilian killing fire-bombing. At close to 150000 dead per raid, the Japanese would have ceased to exist as a population had the invasion taken place.

Operation Unthinkable was actually workable. The Soviets were in pretty bad shape on May 1st, 1945. Remember that Berlin was a prize for Eastern cooperation. So a ton - if not most - of the Soviet Army was training, heading, Eastward. Against them was four million highly trained, rested and healthy British soldiers. While Soviet armor was remarkeable, it was within beating of the Cromwell, Comet and Firefly. And while Soviet armor was numerous, her air force was no match for the RAF. Finally, remember that up until 1946, Uncle Joe is still getting food and stuffs from British and USA lend lease. With USA fully Eastward, no friendly ships are in Europe to prevent a British blockade nor can Russia do okay without the food. Unthinkable would have succeeded.
