Best grits I ever had was at a hole-in-the-wall diner next to the Oakland AFEES where
I received my 1966 induction physical ---- better than any my mom (from Lake City, FL) ever made.

Oh My, I can tell you from personal experience that Grits in that Fashion "Cream of Wheat Style" is Nasty, I went to Boot Camp and A-School in Florida, I'm a Northern City Boy I didn't know Grits from Shinola, I though it was Cream of Wheat, Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. I finally married me a Florida Girl, Immigrant from tham thar Hills of Tennessee taught me how to eat Grits Appalachian Style with Runny Eggs, I became and Addict at that point. Now my Mother, A Foodie Late in Life introduced me to Grits with Cheese and Shrimp which is real good too. I'm pretty sure I'd eat them with Gumbo too.

I hope you still have your uniforms. If so, please take them and hand them to your wife. then drive her to the nearest Naval facility and inform the Master Chief here is another southerner who messed up the taste buds of a northerner. This is UNSAT, and she should be made to clean the 16 in barrels from the inside out as punishment. Just kidding.
