When I was finishing up school I had to take one last elective and the only one that fit my schedule was a class in the Psych department called "Sleep and Sleep Disorders." It ended up being, hands down, the most useful class I ever took in my collegiate career. My sleep patterns had been jacked since my first deployment. Using what I learned in that class I was able to totally tweak my "sleep hygiene" and when I follow my plan I feel like a different person than when I am sleep deprived.

CPT (Join to see) That is a great comment on the benefit of education and staying awake in class!

Rest is incredibly important SP5 Mark Kuzinski to good health and every other aspect if our lives.
At different times in our lives we need more or less sleep and most of us have in exigent circumstances been able to go for extended times with minimal sleep. However burnout is dangerous and many vehicular accidents occur because drivers judgement is impaired - drugs/alcohol and sleep all factor into these incidents.

My eyes open between 0430 and 0500 every morning, it does not matter what time I go to sleep. I shoot for 2230 but often see 0030 to 0130....! Too much to do!
