He shouldn't have gone there in the first place and then to steal something (even what seems harmless) was stupid. Just like those hikers who went to Iran. People are so dumb. Don't get me wrong I am glad he has been returned and will get the medical treatment he deserves but now he'll be praised as some kind of hero.

If you go to a country you KNOW is hostile to the US, you get what you give. NK has been hostile to the US and it's interests for DECADES. So WHY would you travel there? Lisa Lings sister snuck her ass in there and was locked up. Got what she deserved. This is in line with the fools who thought it'd be cool to go on "vacation" in Iraq to see historical sites and take pics with the troops while we were still in full combat operations mode. You go, the hell with you. Not going to loose sleep over you. Get sent, then we should do everything to get you back.

The efforts that led to his release (Swedish diplomats acting on behalf of the U.S.) started under the Obama administration. Also, the only reason N Korea let him go was because he was comatose. It wouldn't look good if one of their prisoners died under their watch. Alan K. - It's clear that your strong feelings blind you to the point I'm trying to make. I'm not trying to say Obama was some superhero or anything. Simply trying to point out that he played a role in this too. I'm simply trying to point out the misinformation in the article. Not challenge anybody's world view. A little secret, I wasn't a fan of Obama and I'm not a big fan of President Trump. That doesn't mean that I can't recognize things either are/were doing well. Politics should never be taken personally. People have different views and there's nothing wrong with that.
