Used a 'chute twice in my life - once to save my ass, the other as a "family sky-dive" event, To paraphrase PO1 William "Chip" Nagel's comment - I was also taught never to leave a perfectly good flying aircraft. My daughter & son tricked me into going up with them (they're skydivers) on my 60th birthday. Leaving a good flying aircraft on my own was definitely a new experience, but because the event was video taped, it is one that I will cherish being with my children. I salute & say "Well done" to all paratroopers who do it for a living, especially during combat.

My cousin had over 300 jumps and as a Pilot took people up for jumps as well. I never had any intention of following His example. Your a braver man than Me going up and jumping out on Your own, I have no intention of ever doing that.

Never Saw the Appeal of Jumping Out of a Perfectly Good Working Aircraft.

My first four jumps were from a C-119 Flying Box Car......it was NOT a "perfectly good airplane"!
