"On December 12, 1943, born on this day, Mike Smith, from English pop rock band, Dave Clark Five, who scored the 1964 UK No.1 single 'Glad All Over', and the 1965 US No.1 single 'Over And Over' , plus over 15 other UK top 40 singles. Smith died on 29th Feb 2008 from pneumonia at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire, England at the age of 64."

The Dave Clark Five was a outstanding band from England that was part of that English rock band
invasion of America in 1964. The DC5 was overshadowed by the Beatles as were all the other bands
in '64 but for me I thought they were better than the Beatles. The DC5 had a string of hit records
and were a top studio recording band. I really like their cover of the Contours DO YOU LOVE ME.
DC5 better than the Beatles. My girlfriend hated me for saying that as she loved the Beatles. :o)
