When your budget is tight, especially around Xmas time, not getting your paycheck on time can be a significant problem for families. I think this author really understated the problem by referring to a furlough as a paid vacation. Getting money later won't make a late payment disappear. And Trump just tweeted that the shutdown could last a very long time.

PO3 Bob McCord - "The Dems are willing to let Yellowstone Park and Yosemite shut down. Because that's about all that will happen" Greetings from 2019. We're now in the longest shutdown in US History. The Coast Guard are relying on food banks to survive while protecting the borders without being able to pay their bills, and half of the TSA is probably going to resign if this is not resolved soon.
