Good morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Anemic Spiral NGC 4921 from Hubble." Why anemic? There appears to be a low rate of star formation in this galaxy, and it also has a low surface brightness. NGC 4921 is estimated to be about 300 million light years distant, and with its known recession speed is one of the markers used better calibrate the expansion rate of the entire visible universe.

Good morning Maj William W. 'Bill' Price and with a Galaxy like this seemingly very tight spiral formation with minimal light coming from it! We are so used to seeing the very bright Galaxies that permeate the majority of the Cosmos! Here is a short clip taken from the link of their page that shows the depth and comparative light given off by other galaxies in that part of the heavens!
