Good morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Planet of the Tajinastes." Found on the Canary Island of Tenerife in the Teide National Park among the rocks of the volcanic terrain, tajinastes grow to a height up to 3 meters. They bloom in spring and early summer and then die after a week or so as their seeds mature. Similar plants (silverswords) grow on Haleakala Crater and Mauna Kea in Hawai'i.

PO3 Bob McCord - LOL - one never knows. I was given a bunch of "hen and chick's" and told I'd have to move them in for the winter. Ummm - they were under about 8" of ice most of the winter and are happily producing chicks now. I quit worrying about them several months ago. In a huge concrete planter I couldn't move if I wanted to.

Sgt (Join to see) - I know zero about the Canary ISlands, but these seem to be high in the mountains? If so, MAYBE they could make it in NW MO? We do tend to have hot, humid summers, even tho our winters are ridiculous. (This one in particular :'( - ) Severe thunderstorm watch as I type - Thunderbird drummin' and dancin' and thinking we need even more water :-/ I had never heard of these before now, but I feel like I need some in my life :-)

Explanation: What's moving? Time lapse videos of the sky can be quite spectacular when they last long enough for stars, planets, aurora, and clouds to appear...
This is my 2nd comment Maj William W. 'Bill' Price and I found two excellent short clips accentuating the Tajinastes!
